Many people don't know, but I was actually born in Chicago, Illinois. I lived there until I was 9 years old and then moved to Minnesota. If you ask me where I'm from, I'll say Minnesota. There's a reason why though.. The main reason is because most of what I remember from my life was in Minnesota. It was the place I grew up during some of my most important years. So, it only feels right to say so.
BUT, funny story. Keep reading to figure out the reason I started saying I was from Minnesota to begin with.
When you tell people you're from Chicago, there are a couple of things that happens depending on the person you're talking to.
1. If they aren't from Chicago, their eyes get real big and they say something like "Oh, you ain't nothin to play with."
2. If they are from Chicago, this is how the conversation goes:
Them: What side you from?
Me: South Side.
Them: Ahh yeah? Me too. Where you stay at?
Me: 39th and King Drive. (Sidenote: For the longest time I didn't know this.. LOL)
Them: Ahh okay, you wasn't too far from where I was at. What high school you went to?
Me: Oh, I went to high school in Minnesota.
Them: *straight face* You not from Chicago.
Moral of the story: people from Chicago will absolutely not claim you if you didn't spend your high school years there lmao!
I will say this though, it's in me so don't get it twisted. Anyways, let's carry on.
the Product
In this collection, there is a very simple white tee. To make the tee stand out, I overlaid the 21Future logos with a very bright and busy graphic. A collage was executed that included all the sports teams' logo listed below:

- Minnesota Wild
- Minnesota Twins
The type of print that was used for these graphics is what you would called DTG (Direct-to-Garment). This is a process of printing graphics on garments that uses a modified inkjet technology. It's hard to explain how it prints into the garment, but it's almost like printing words on a piece of paper. You don't expect it to crack or fade. It's almost like it's melted into the garment and is a part of the garment. I hope you guys are catching my drift.
DTG allows you to easily be able to print almost an infinite amount of colors very quickly. And it's an alternative to screen printing.
the Idea
Being from Minnesota, a lot of people ask what is there to really do? While we may not have a ton to do outside of nature, we do have have a sports team in pretty much every big professional league. Sports are a huge part of the culture in Minnesota. I wanted to pay homage to that and represent the various teams I was able to enjoy while living there.
